The Year Is Over
My favorite topic was about the universe. Basicly when you learn about the universe you learn how your going to die (lol)
2. Explain this topic. Provide a picture and/or website link to better illustrate what you learned.
This topic is about how the universe was made, how it looks, and what will happen to it.
3. Why is this so cool? Mr. Dunn likes a lot of stuff that we do (that's why we do it). Why did you like this particular
We had more fun learning about this topic then any other topic

what was it like?????!!???????
almost that time to leave
radical volocity, astrmetry, transit method, optical detection
2. Choose one of the four ways and explain it in detail.
the radical volocity is like the doppler effect i detect when something is moving closer or away from the planet/star.
3. In your answer to #2 you chose one way that astronomers detect extrasolar planets. Search the Internet to find how many extrasolar planets have been detected using this method.
42 extrasolar planets has been found

Aries (whats your sign)
Yeah I knew that would catch your eye, well it got mine to. Blak holes are not what you think. Black holes are just the end of starts. The cool thing about black holes is that they are more massive than the sun. A black hole is created by a supernova EXPLOSION!!!! When you think of a black hole you think " Oh no I'm going to get sucked in " but there are lots of black holes and we are not sucked in. It is just a myth. Actually, if the sun were to change into a black hole the Earth would not change its orbit.
ALIENS ARE REAL!!!?!!!!
We have been looking for aliens for over 50 years and poeple have so many questions. Are they real? What do they look like? Is the government hiding them in Area 51? Even though I don't have the answers I might be able to help you. Area 51 is located 90 miles from Las Vegas. The story began when a UFO crash in that area then the military built a base around it.
Walking on the moon!!!!!
The Moon makes one full orbit around the Earth every 29.5 days. During this period the Moon enters a series of phases, which changes the amount of light reflected off its surface and its visible shape to the naked eye from Earth. The Moon differs from most natural satellites of other planets in that its orbit is close to the plane of the ecliptic and not in the Earth's equatorial plane.
Where is that dang PLUTO?
When did this happen ? Pluto is not a planet! What in the world? In August of 2006 Pluto was declared to no longer be a planet. This was due to a rewriting of the definition of “planet”.
According to the new definition, a full-fledged planet is an object that orbits the sun and is large enough to have become round due to the force of its own gravity. In addition, a planet has to dominate the neighborhood around its orbit.
I Want a Milky Way!!!!!
The Milky Way is believed to be more than 13 billion years old, which is estimated to be virtually as old as the entire universe itself. The Milky Way galaxy is actually just one of billions of galaxies contained within the Universe, but it is very little .

My input
Global warming is an increase in the world's temperatures, believed to be caused in part by the greenhouse effect.
2. Do you believe in global warming? Briefly explain.
In some ways I do belive in global warming but I feel that we are slowing it down, because the O-zone layer is getting patch up.
3. Give three pieces of evidence to support your position on number 2.
-recycle
-hybrid
-solor power
4. Despite your response to #2, there are smart people out there that believe the complete opposite of what you believe. Give three pieces of evidence for someone with the opposing viewpoint.
Well I think that people have there own opinions but global warming is a fact. For one the ice in the artic is melting, sea level rising, and o-zone layer was ripping/

1. What are the 4 main types of air masses? What does each letter stand for?
mT (m=martime and T=tropical), mP (martime and P=polar), cT (c=continental and T=tropical)
cP (c=continental and P= polar).
2. Which kind of air mass is most likely to bring hurricanes? Why?
mT because its in the warm wet part, which is where most hurricanes happens.
3. Which kind of air mass(es) is most likely to bring a drought? Why?
cT because its in the hotter parts near desserts.
4. Which kind of air mass(es) bring lake-effect snowstorms? (check p. 561)
cP because its the cold area where this happens
5. Today we learned about the 4 main types of air masses. In reality, there are many more than four. List and explain 2 other air masses.

Patrick vs. Mr.Krabs
Because every ton of glass recycled saves up to 9 gallons of fuel oil needed to make glass from virgin materials

I think that recycling is better because when you don't need something anymore just recycle insteed of holding unwanted things
3. How can Fayetteville residents recycle?
If we use the blue cans that they gave us then that will help alot

Well I think that Fayettiville is doing an ok job with the whole recycle bins at every house thats what I would do

Hack'n hol (the hack of the hol)

Lets dig a hole!!!!!!! ;)
The deepest mine in the world is 3.6 kilometers.
2. How deep would you have to dig to reach the mantle?
You will have to dig down 35km to the mantle.
3. Let's pretend that you and your friends tried to dig a hole in your backyard to find a shortcut to China. The thing is, you guys had special suits that could withstand extreme temperatures, so you would not die. If you were somehow able to reach the mantle, what would it look like? What kinds of things would you see? How about the outer core? Inner core? What would it look like as you approached the surface (the crust) on the other side?
Well I will might see dirt, magma, iron, nickel, and other metals. When I reach China I would make people pay $50 to go in my hole.

Intursive and extursive rocks are two types of igneous rocks.Igneous rocks form when magma hardens underground.an example is the Obsidian . Obsidian rocksi s a dark-colored volcanic glass that forms from the very rapid cooling of molten rock material. It cools so rapidly that crystals do not form. A Basalt t(to the left) is a fine-grained, dark-colored extrusive igneous rock composed mainly of plagioclase and pyroxene. Extrusive rocks from when lava hardens.
Most metamorphism form when elevated tempertures & pressure and forms a few kilometers below earth's surface. The two basic type of metamorphic rocks are foliated metamorphic rocks and non-foliated metamorphic rocks. Foliated rocks are a layered or banded appearance that is produced by exposure to heat and directed pressure, and non-foilated do not have a layered or banded appearance.
Sedimentary rocks are formed by the accumulation of sediments. The three types of sedimentary rocks are clastic sedimentary rocks which are that are formed from mechanical weathering debris. Another sedimentary rock is chemical sedimentary rock which is forms when disolved materials precipitate from solution. The thrid one is organic sedimentary rocks forms from the accumulation of plant or animal debris.
